Taverns.
As anyone who's ever taken part in a D&D campaign knows, it's exceedingly common for adventurers to stop in at the local tavern -- even start there -- to pick up the trail of their next adventure. It's so common, in fact, that it's become an overused trope. But with a classic swords & magic anime like Slayers, how can you not have such places?
Have you seen the appetites of some of these characters?!?
Whether it's an inn, a restaurant, or a bar, RP threads with '[T]' in the title are distinguished as taverns. Taverns have several important functions. Besides being a place for characters to meet up and socialize, taverns feature 'Adventure Boards' -- a list of Adventure ideas, interesting current events, and "quest bait" cooked up by the forum staff, as well as a place for those who want to run a guided Adventure to post the details and recruit people. Conveniently, unlike other threads that are typically plotted along the Timeline, taverns "exist out of time" -- people can freely come and go without having to worry about when they are in the overall story. Also, only staff and council members can create tavern threads.
On that note, please don't go destroying or fighting (serious fighting, at least) in a tavern thread. Cleaning up from that presents some... challenges where the Timeline is concerned.
And don't worry, you don't have to pay from your Loot for what your character(s) eat and drink while in a tavern -- we just assume they have enough pocket change on hand to cover it. (Of course, there will be the occasional Adventure Board idea that says otherwise, but that's just as a plot starter.)
